Nation's leading color labs begin beta testing of Collages.net’s “MyLabPartner.net”
Langhorne, PA, April 7, 2003 - Collages.net today announced that three leading U.S. Color labs – Burrell Professional Labs, H&H Color, and Millers Professional, have agreed to beta test and implement Collages.net’s latest web-based product called MyLabPartner.net (“MLP”). MLP is Collages.net’s first product for the professional color lab market. MLP vertically integrates Collages.net with the color lab and gives the professional photographer, whether they are film or digital, the capability to easily post all of their events online with Collages.net. Fulfillment of reprint orders is then handled digitally through the color Lab.
According to Norm Racine, Collages.net’s COO, MLP allows photographers to send their film to MyLabPartner.net labs, where it will be scanned and then uploaded to the Collages.net server. Digital photographers will upload their digital images directly to Collages.net. Once Collages.net receives the images, websites are created and all reprint orders placed on the sites are automatically sent directly through the participating MLP lab. Posting online, proofing, collecting reprint orders, designing Proof Books, CDs and DVDs, working with couples and clients, and ordering finished prints is now a snap with this new solution.
Best of all, MLP is all web-based, so there are no software installations, downloads or updates required. Mr. Racine reports an extremely positive reaction from both lab owners and the technology teams at each lab. “The labs all see the need for a cross-platform, easy to use technology such as MLP. Collages has invested heavily in building this solution and it shows as we see the response from those who are about to be incorporating it into their workflow.” MLP will be commercially launched later this year and, beginning in October, the company expects to integrate MLP to the next group of leading labs.
