Market Your Studio
Join the Social Networking Revolution and Build Your Brand
In last month’s newsletter, Collages.net introduced its new feature for linking event sites to Facebook, MySpace, website, and blog pages, keeping your studio modern and on the cutting edge of marketing. Below are four ways that successful studios have been using this free marketing tool to their studio's advantage:

Social Networking.
1.
Links
Locate your favorite wedding or portrait site and link it to your Facebook, MySpace, studio website, and blog page as an alternative photo gallery. Your friends and clients will have easy access to view your unique photography every time they view your personal or studio’s page. The same site can be linked to multiple locations!

2.
E-mail Marketing
Send a Power Marketing E-mail to your clients announcing this new feature. Clients will love to share their memories with even more friends and family members. In turn, you will love the increased exposure your studio will gain when they link event sites to their social networking pages. You can't buy this type of exposure!

3.
Promote
Devise a promotion or contest to feature a client’s wedding or portrait site on your blog. Let your blog readers know that the client who posts the most comments or posts the X number comment will have his or her site featured on your blog.

4.
Seniors
Discuss this feature with high school seniors and other young clients during consultations. Seniors and young adults control social networking trends and love using Facebook and MySpace for sharing their photos. Don’t forget that events, not individual photos, can be linked to social networking sites so your work will remain secure.

*Do you have an idea that works for your studio? Talk about it on our blog.

How does linking sites to social networks help my studio?

Generate More Contacts
Linking your work to a client's social networking site (or even your own) will help spread the word about your photography. Sharing event sites with friends and family has never been easier for your clients. The results are increased exposure to your studio’s brand and more interest in your studio. You can also be sure that your work will remain secure as every Collages.net event site is Flash-based, meaning images cannot be downloaded.

Modernize Your Studio's Image
With an application available for Facebook and links for MySpace, blogs, websites, and other social networking sites, your studio will look cutting edge. Add events to your own social networking sites as an alternate way to show off your favorite wedding or portrait session. Get with it!

Boost Your Sales
Collages.net has studied the effective techniques of boosting online sales. The best way to increase online sales is to increase the size of the viewing audience. When studios collect e-mail addresses or pass out event cards at a wedding or event, their audience is significantly larger than studios who solely rely on their clients to spread the word. Social networking links create a larger viewing audience.

Dixie Pixel Photography
I am giving away over $1,000.00 of portraits to a deserving individual or individuals.

Do you know someone who shines above the hardship placed on them? Is there someone who is just a beautiful person (on the inside) who would be thrilled with the gift of portraits, but hasn’t the finances to afford professional photographs?

Tell me about them, please!

The winner will receive a free portrait session with $650.00 worth of prints and products.

Send an email to tara@dixiepixelphoto.com by February 28th of 2009. The winner will be announced on my blog on March 31st, 2009.

The Rules:

1.   You may not nominate yourself.
2.   The winner must be within 100 miles of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, or willing to partake in a session within this radius.
3.   E-mails with just names will be disqualified – I need a reason why this person deserves to win.

AND FINALLY…

Happy New Year.
