Looking for a way to build your portfolio and gain more exposure for your studio all while doing something great for your community? Try reaching out and photographing an event for a charitable or non-profit organization.
Many photographers shoot events for charitable organizations at no cost, but figuring out which events to shoot is an unfamiliar process for many. Start by researching local organizations in your area that are hosting upcoming events by searching for charity event notices in newspapers, magazines, blogs, or use a free volunteer service such as VolunteerMatch. Try locating organizations that have a meaning to you and you will be rewarded in numerous ways.
Once you’ve contacted the organization and worked out the details of the event, get ready to shoot!
