| Winners of The 2008 Professional Photographer Cover Photo Contest |
 The 2008 Professional Photographer Cover Photo Contest drew more than 50,000 entries from photographers around the world. From March 1 to May 31, entrants were invited to submit as many images as they wished through the magazine’s website. The first stage of judging was based on composition and technical competence. These basic guidelines helped Professional Photographer’s editors narrow the selection to 500 semifinalists.*
