What types of press printed books does Collages.net offer?
Collages.net offers hard cover, hand-sewn press printed books and soft cover, perfect bound press printed books. Our books are available in a variety of convenient sizes with creative color and border options.


What colors do press printed books come in?
Our press printed books are available in 28 different colors: Blanca, Mint, Sage, Vail, Blush, Petal, Island, Terracotta, Honey, Cashmere, Kelly, Ivy, Turquoise, Caribbean, Montauk, Cherry, Raspberry, Cranberry, Crimson, Wildflower, Juicy, Grape, Cabo, Sunset, Napa, Chocolate, Navy, and Onyx.

What sizes are available for press printed books?
Our soft cover, perfect bound press printed books are available in 5x5, 7x7, 8x8, and 8x11. Our hard cover, hand-sewn press printed books are available in 5x5, 7x7, 8 ½ x 8 ½, and 8x11.


How many images are on each side?
The number of images on each side depends on the size of the book. For 5x5 and 7x7, one image is on each side. For 8x8 and 8 ½ x 8 ½, photographers are able to choose one or four images per side. For 8x11, photographers are able to choose six or nine images per side.


How do I prepare my files?
Please read over our file preparation guide for more assistance with preparing your images.


Why do my images have to be renumbered?
Images are placed in your press printed book alphanumerically; the order is determined by your file names (i.e. 0001SmithWedding, 0002SmithWedding, 0003SmithWedding).


How can I get the fastest upload?
Resizing your images will increase your upload speed. The minimum image size needed is determined by the book size and template chosen. Please see the resizing guide for more information.


Does it matter if my images are rotated?
Images are placed in the press printed book exactly as they are received. If your image files are not rotated correctly, they will not be displayed correctly in your press printed book.


After I have uploaded my order, can I make changes?
No. Once your order is uploaded, it goes directly into production.


Will my images have borders?
If you select a 5x5, 7x7 or 8x8 book, you are able to choose no border, a clean border, or a sloppy border. Our templates for 4-up, 6-up, and 9-up have the choice of clean black border or no border. Collages.net strongly recommends a clean black border for these templates.

How do you ship press printed books?
We offer four shipping options: FedEx Ground®, FedEx 2Day®, FedEx Standard Overnight®, FedEx Priority Overnight®.


Does Collages.net offer studio sample books?
Yes. Collages.net offers 30% off studio sample books. Studio samples are marked as studio samples on the back outside cover.


Can Collages.net ship directly to the photographer’s customer?
Yes. We will ship to either the photography studio or to the customer at no extra cost.


What is the process for uploading my files to Collages.net?
Within our ordering system, you will use our Java tool to upload your images directly to Collages.net. To make sure you have the most recent version of Java, please click here.


What size and format should my files be?
Image files should be JPEGs. All files should be greater than the minimum required 100 dpi, but no greater than 2 MB. Please also make sure that your image names are less than 40 characters and the number of images in your image folder matches the number listed next to the book name.


Am I able to order and upload more than one book at a time?
Yes. Our Java-based tool and easy online ordering system enables you to order and upload multiple press printed books at the same time.


Can Collages.net press printed books be used for more than just proofing?
Yes. Collages.net press printed books can be used in countless ways, including as parent albums, studio marketing samples, and favors.

Am I able to choose the length of my book?
You choose the number of images in your book, and then Collages.net will calculate the number of sides in the book. Please use the charts below for further details.

What cover choices do I have?
We offer three cover template choices: one image centered on the front of the cover with two optional text lines, three images right justified with two optional text lines, and full image bleed (front and back of cover, with no text) that you design.

Please note: the 8 ½ x 8 ½ hard cover, hand-sewn book has a black linen spine. Please consider this spine when choosing the cover template.

If I choose to include text on my cover, what are my options?
You are able to choose from numerous fonts: Amazone, Arial, Elementric, Englische Bold, Freestyle Script, Futura Light, John Handy, Kids, Pixie, Slogan, Tweed, Vivaldi, and Vladimir Script. Click here to see font samples.

Font sizes vary based on book size; we offer sizes 14-24pt.


Will my file names be hidden?
You have the option of displaying or hiding your file names.


How long does it take to produce a hard cover, hand-sewn book?
Hard cover, hand-sewn books are produced in 7-10 business days, plus shipping time.


How long does it take to produce a soft cover, perfect bound book?
Soft cover, perfect bound books are produced in 2-3 business days, plus shipping time.


What kind of paper is used?
All of our press printed books are comprised of press printed pages.
