File Preparation and Color Management

Before uploading your images, please read through our file preparation and color management guide. Following these steps will ensure a simple, smooth uploading process.

1. Naming your images - Please name your files in sequential, alphanumerical order using a four-digit number, i.e. 0001, 0002, 0003 … 0099, 0100. As long as your image names do not exceed 40 characters, you may also include an event identifier, i.e. 0001SmithWedding, 0002SmithWedding, 0003SmithWedding.
2. Formatting your files - Make sure all of your images end with a .jpg extension. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE IMAGES IN SUBFOLDERS. To ensure a proper upload, images must be placed in one folder and must be named in alphanumerical order. If any images are placed in subfolders, they will not be included in your book.
3. Rotating your images - Please make sure that all of your images are rotated to the proper orientation. Images are printed as they are received and are not reviewed for orientation.
4. Managing your color - To ensure color consistency and prevent printing error, please make sure that all files are supplied in the RGB color mode. Your images can be easily formatted in RGB color by using Photoshop® and following the steps below.

          a. Open your file in PhotoShop®.
          b. Select Image.
          c. Select Mode.
          d. Select RGB.
          e. Save your file.

To make this process faster, you can also create a PhotoShop® action.
